What We Collect

When you use BillMyLandlord, we collect:

Your description of your landlord situation (text you type into the intake form)
Uploaded files (photos, screenshots, PDFs, text files) that you choose to provide as evidence
Context information you optionally provide (rent stabilization status, tenancy length, borough)
Your email address (collected at payment for report delivery)
Payment information (processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details)

How We Use Your Data

To analyze your situation and generate your case assessment and documents
To deliver your report via email
To process your payment through Stripe
To improve our service (we may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve AI accuracy)

How We Protect Your Data

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
Files are stored in private cloud storage buckets (Supabase Storage) with signed URLs
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see your card number
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties
Your uploaded documents are used solely for case analysis and are not used to train AI models

Data Retention

Your case data (description, uploads, analysis, and generated documents) is retained for 90 days after creation to allow you to access your report. After 90 days, case data may be deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes your situation description and documents to generate analysis and documents
Stripe — processes payments securely
Supabase — hosts our database and file storage
Vercel — hosts our website

Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@billmylandlord.com.

Important: Sensitive Documents

Do not upload documents containing Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or other sensitive personal identifiers. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, we recommend redacting sensitive information before uploading.
